MUMIAS SUGAR ROARS BACK TO LIFE

 
Residents of Mumias town and it's environment cannot hide their joy after the largest sugarcane miller in the country, Mumias Sugar Company started crushing cane following a successful maintenance exercise by the Sarrai Group after a five year break.

The outgoing Kakamega Governor H.E Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya toured the factory and expressed optimism that it will roar back to full life moreso if local leaders keep politics off its revival. In his address to the media, the Governor thanked Sarrai Group for remaining committed to its revival plan of the miller adding that as the Co-Chair of the National Sugar Taskforce, one of the recommendations of the Committee was to lease the factory to a reputable company that is capable of resuscitating the giant miller after repairs on the worn out machines. 

Gov. Oparanya announced that the company will be paying farmers on a weekly basis urging residents growing cane to register with the factory for supply of the raw material to Mumias.

The new company has also retained experienced former company employees as it looks forward to commencing full operations. A fleet of tractors have already been purchased ready for transportation of cane.

MWALE MEDICAL AND TECHNOLOGY CITY SLOWLY SHAPING UP.

This magnificent one man show project was initially launched in the year 2014 in the remote villages of Lunza, Butere constituency, Kakamega county. This Ksh. 200 Billion project is under US sponsorship under the pioneer and stewardship of one Julius Mwale, a brother to the sitting area MP, Hon Tindi Mwale. It's located 32km from Kakamega town on Bukura-Butere Road. The medical city was majorly established as a main cancer center in West Kenya and by extension, Kenya and East Africa as a whole and has adopted "HAMPTONS" as it's main identify name for all it's departments. The project started as a false dream with lots of false prophets casting aspersions against it. But the negativity never detected Mwale, the man who had left the United States to come and convert his remote village into a medical techno and tourism city.
